Thai Temple Brunch experience
As blogged before, there was a Rains event last Saturday to go to Berkeley Kite Festival & Thai Temple brunch. We sampled the truly delicious Thai cuisine at the Thai Cultural Center in Berkeley. If you go there, be sure to try the Mango & Sticky Rice, and the great dessert (forget the name).
When getting Mango & Sticky Rice, be sure to try the combo one that includes purple rice and a pudding-like substance. Both should satisfy your exotic cuisine taste bud and your sweet tooth at the same time.
Their dessert is truly amazing. There are two type. One that is waffle-ironed and is made out of coconut milk, onion, and wheat flour. It is white and looks like two half-dome sticked together. The other one is deep-fried small pancake shaped sweetie that contains taro, coconut, etc. Both are out-of-this-world... well, at least out-of-this-country (from Thai). It is truly delicious. You can order the combination so you can try both at the same time. One word of warning: the dessert is surprising filling.
I cannot think of any better place to quench your thrist for amazing and exotic cuisine. =) Everyone should try it at least once. It is open every Sunday morning in Thai Cultural Center in Berkeley. Bon Appetite!
