Fellow Sentient beings,
You are invited to come participate intellectually, spiritually, visually,
and aurally in a series of talks by The 14th Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche the
weekend of Feb 17.
I do not know what his talks will be about nor the format, but this is a
good opportunity to hear an important and respected figure in Tibetan
Buddhism speak. I'd highly recommend coming to at least one of the talks.
Donations are not required, but be mindful of your motivations for giving
or not giving as the case may be.
The Shamarpa will speak in the East Floorence Moore Hall Lounge near the
Administrative offices of Floorence Moore (affectionately known as the SLE
lounge to some of you). His schedule is as follows:
Friday 7-9pm
Saturday 9-noon, 2-5pm
Sunday 9-noon, 2-5pm
Monday 7-9pm
Tuesday and Wednesday he will be speaking off campus at the Bodhi Path Karma
Kagyu Buddhist Center of Menlo park.
A brief background on the Shamarpa:
The Shamarpa, also known as Shamar Rinpoche, is considered to be the
second-highest lama in the Karma Kagyu school, next only to the Karmapa.
The two are historically interwoven, with each in turn acknowledging and
teaching the other. At various times the two have come from the same
extended family (as is the case currently).
Peace,
Jason
